Service Description
Teen Rod Restoration Jay Blanchard Park 2451 Dean Rd, Union Park, FL 32817 FRIDAYS 12:30pm - 2:30pm Ages 12-17 -This class if for the teen angler looking to learn how to repair/restore all things rods and reels. -Students will either bring the worst fishing pole they can find (think broken pole in corner of garage or one picked up at a garage sale) or Take Me Fishing will provide one. -Over 8 weeks, our rod and reel expert will help each student completely restore a pole. -Students will gain skills on how to maintain, repair, or upgrade their fishing pole set up. -Students will work on rod restoration for first 45 minutes of class and fish remaining portion of class. -Take Me Fishing will provide bait and lures weekly. -Loaner poles provided for students who may be fishing for the first time or do not own one. -Discussion of Florida Wildlife & Conservation topics discussed regularly. -Water and Outdoor Safety covered throughout 8 weeks. -Time spent in community with other teens who enjoy fishing! -Each teen will receive official "Take Me Fishing" long sleeve/hooded dry-fit shirt. PLEASE NOTE: Per American Red Cross water safety protocol, life preservers must be worn by teen participants if a parent/guardian states child does not know how to adequately swim or parent/guardian requests teen to do so during registration process. If teen is unable or unwilling to wear provided life preserver and does not know how to swim, a parent or guardian over the age of 18 must stay for the duration of the lesson. *Children 16 or over must have a Florida freshwater fishing license to participate and provide a copy on the first week to Take Me Fishing. If help is needed in obtaining a license, please reach out to Take Me Fishing for assistance. We are more than happy to help! **Attention Step Up for Students Parents.
